The CPS Department of Arts Education runs a number of districtwide arts programs that are open to all CPS students (from district-managed, charter, contract, and options schools). These programs provide greater equity and access to arts programming across the district and celebrate our students’ astonishing creativity, innovation, and talent.
During the Fall/Spring classes meet once per week after school or on Saturdays for 60 or 75 minutes. During the Summer, week long workshops are offered June thru August.
We offer live and interactive online classes of chess, piano, Rubik's Cube, guitar, mathematics, abacus, public speaking, creative writing, yoga, Python programming, Scratch coding, physics, chemistry, and language classes (Spanish, German, French)

The Children’s Village area will feature hands-on art experiences for children to create their own make-and-take art masterpieces. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sat. and Sun.
Experiment, build, and create as you explore STEM through hands-on projects. Activities include many areas of STEM: investigate electricity, build your own vehicle, experiment with chemical reactions, and design an earthquake-proof building. These are just some of the challenges we’ll dig into as we build creative problem solving skills through STEM. New experiments each session!

We offer virtual educational enrichment classes via ZOOM for children in 1st-6th grades, Monday through Friday, five days a week from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM PST.
These 40-minute art appreciation lessons are designed for children ages 7-12. During the lessons we will immerse ourselves into the story of a wonderful artwork. We'll use our imagination and our thinking skills to figure out what is happening. And, then, we'll understand a little bit more about ourselves by empathizing with the characters.
