Taking in the beautiful fall colors at Cosley Zoo is a must-do! Come see the animals and take in the thousands of pumpkins that line the zoo’s lawn. Children’s rides are available for an additional fee. Apples, gourds, pumpkins, cider, cornstalks, and various sizes of straw bales are also available to purchase. Check out the fall merchandise in the Wild Side Gift Shop, too! Proceeds from your purchases benefit Cosley Zoo. Regular admission rates apply.

Fall Starts Here! Celebrate the sights, sounds and flavors of autumn at the Annual Apple Fest in the heart of Lincoln Square! Stroll along Lincoln Avenue and shop fresh-picked apples, cider and seasonal favorites from Midwest farms; dig into creative apple-inspired dishes and festival eats from local restaurants and food vendors; sip hard and non-alcoholic ciders, seasonal beers and more; and browse a bustling marketplace filled with artists, makers and local businesses. Add in live music, DJs, family entertainment, hands-on kids activities and plenty of surprises along the way, and you've got one of Lincoln Square's favorite fall traditions.

Bring your family and friends (and an acoustic instrument) to Sankofa Gathering Space for Earth Jam and Family Day at Sankofa for the Earth Gathering Space. The event is a celebration of the gathering space, the Bronzeville community, and nature. The event begins with a walk down the nature path with musical accompaniment from the parking lot at E 47th street to the Gathering Space at 2PM. At Sankofa for the Earth Gathering Space participants will enjoy face painting, refreshments, instrument/noise maker making, a libation ceremony and storytelling with Mama Edie, an acoustic jam session led by SamThousand, African drumming, and more. BYOAI (Bring Your Own Acoustic Instrument) to join in on the Jam Session. Meet at the parking lot for Burnham Nature Sanctuary at E 47th Street and Cornell Drive by 2:00 PM to take part of the group walk, or join the event at Sankofa for the Earth Gathering Space anytime between 2 and 5 PM.

Cider with the Sanderson Sisters at Normandy Park. Meet & greet with the sisters from Hocus Pocus. Bounce house, music, face paint, arts & crafts, best costume contest & bring an already carved Jack O Lantern for the best carved pumpkin contest!

Play For All invites children and families with disabilities and Chicago Children’s Museum members to come and experience CCM's inclusive, multisensory exhibits and programs. The museum opens at 10 am for Play For All guests and members exclusively, and at 11 am to the general public. **The first 250 children and families with disabilities who register will receive FREE admission! Pre-registration is required for free admission.**

Enjoy free admission to the American Writers Museum on the third Sunday of each month! Free admission grants you access to all our exhibits, including special exhibits and at 11:30 am, grab the little ones and join us for a special Little Squirrels Storytime!

Tierra Colombiana Dance Ensemble presents a celebration of art and culture for Hispanic Heritage Month. We will have arts and crafts featuring artists from Central and South America, arts and crafts for kids and adults, art vendors, and food.
